Week 7 - Springville Kolob Stake

This week has been a really great week! We set up a lot of meetings
and got to teach quite a few people it was awesome! We started off the
week with a wonderful Pday! We went up Hobble Creek Canyon and went on
an 18 mile bike ride! We got ourselves more than half of the way there
and we are running out of time on our Pday! So we kept going thinking
it would be faster that way. We got to the top and looked at the trail
down and it was full of rocks and was steep and was crazy mountain
biking! It was so fun! I loved it! Even though we were biking for 5
hours! It was crazy! But a lot of fun! I was so tired! I also bought
myself a weighted vest and I hope to be using it a lot and get myself
in good shape! It was a great but super crazy fun Pday! We have
someone we are working with who has to start renting out his home for
him to keep it. So we are helping him this upcoming week and helped
him write up a plan to get his home ready for renting. It is going to
be fun and will really help him in his life. We also are working with
a family who is so amazing! I have built a very close friendship with
the Nauman's and they are so amazing. We are helping them really come
unto Christ and we had the opportunity to bring them to the Payson
temple. It was so good for them and they thought it was beautiful! And
it is! It was such a great experience and it is so amazing to help
them on their path towards Christ. They are going to be lifelong
friends of mine. Brother Nauman loves camping and wildlife, so
probably after the mission he will be coming up to Canada with me and
we will go see the nature and fish and hunt and whatever! Haha they
are a great family :) this week has been really good and we are
working on building a closer bond to our wards so that we work
together in the Work of Salvation. It is often times very difficult
covering 15 wards because there is so many wards that we can work
with, that is why ward Mission Leaders are so important. Anyways I
love this mission and am truly blessed to be here at this time. There
are so many advancements and with the temples and everything! The work
is truly hastening! Well thanks for all the support and I love you
all! Stay strong in the Gospel! If you don't feel that you are there,
get there! Show the faith and act on your beliefs! Read the Book of
Mormon, go to Church, truly find the light of Christ's atonement! We
cannot afford to lose more of Heavenly Fathers Children, our Brothers
and Sisters. Hold on to the testimony and faith that you have and see
the strength that comes from Christ and the Holy Ghost. I promise that
times will get rough. Your faith will be tried. But when you follow
Christ, you have his promise that he will be there for you. This life
is the time to prepare to meet God. Christ lives and his atonement is
there for you. His mercy and grace are available. Christ is the light
and life of the world. Find him. I hope you all have a great week and
enjoy your time! I love you all and know that Christ is there for you,
and I am there for you to.

Week 6 in Springville Kolob stake

This week has been great! Elder Russell is a great Elder, I got to
FaceTime home, and the week was just great! On Monday we spent the
night with a family who fed us dinner. They are such a nice family and
they just moved from Saskatchewan to here in the last little while.
They are so kind and loving and truly are an example of putting faith
in the Lord Jesus Christ. It was a great night. I work with a lot of
families and all these kids seem to like me! Haha I don't know why,
I'm kind of a funny looking guy :) haha So then on Tuesday we ate
dinner with a family that reminded me a lot of mine. It was a great
dinner! We also taught someone that night that two weeks ago blessed
their two children and I got to stand in the circle for that! It was
truly a blessing and very powerful to be a part of a child's blessing.
On Wednesday we ate at Maglebys with the District leader and his
companion. It was a good lunch and a pretty good day. We also ate
dinner with a family who the father served in the Alberta Canada
Mission! It was really cool! On Thursday I finished fixing up my bike
and it is now ready to be used! In the afternoon we then went to the
Temple with a family and I know it helped them to realize that going
to the temple is the right path and goal for them. Driving to Payson
though was pretty great! I only got lost once! Haha which is very
good! On Friday we started out our morning with a Zone Training
Meeting. It was very good and I learned a lot of things I can improve
on in the mission to help others come unto Christ. It was great! Funny
enough there is only me and another person I came out with that are
the only ones still in the Zone from December. Everyone else is newer.
It is pretty cool! Haha we then had our Weekly planning and bought
some bacon wrapped pizza from Little Caesars! It is sooo good! We then
took another family to the temple and it was great for them as well.
It is so amazing to have a temple open house in our mission! On
Saturday we went and met a kid who we are going to teach, and the poor
kid had his family and this member we brought just start to tell him
so many things and he was so overwhelmed! So we took some time and
just asked him some questions to see where he was at. It was very good
because after that he really opened up to us missionaries. It was
great. It was also raining really good on Saturday and we had told
someone that we would do some weed pulling for them, so we did as they
were not home and we got a lot of it done. It was a great opportunity.
I love doing service! We then went to a ward party! They did a whole 5
de Mayo party! It was pretty awesome and a lot of fun! We met some
great people there. I actually even met a firefighter who told me a
lot about what he does and did for school to get hired. It was great!
On Sunday we then had the opportunity to FaceTime home! It was so
great to see my family again! Everyone was looking so good and it was
great to see Nick! I love my family and I hope my Mom and my Grandma
and Nanny had a wonderful Mother's Day! As well as all the Mothers out
there! That night we ate dinner with John and Christine Davies who are
from Alberta Canada and apparently related to some Davies in Magrath!
So that was pretty cool! The work here is going great and I am
enjoying all the families I have the opportunity to work with. We are
working towards some baptismal days and attending the temple so it is
awesome! Anyways I hope all had a great week and I hope you have
another great week! Thanks for all the support! Love you all!

Week 5 Springville Kolob and Hobble Creek West Stake

This week has been a pretty great week! Sadly, Elder Howard is going home this next week, so I am getting a new companion this next Wednesday. Elder Howard has been a great missionary! So hard spots, but he is a very strong spirited individual. It has been a blessing to serve with him. So this past week has been pretty good! We have reached 23 lessons this past week and have had the opportunity to see some hearts soften. I had the opportunity to bear my heartfelt testimony with someone we worked with. I prayed so hard that the spirit would be felt as I bore my testimony. I am so blessed to have the spirit there to soften the heart of the people, but also to have prayers answered. I know he spirit was felt. I am so blessed to be a child of my Heavenly Father. I have such a great potential! And so does everyone! So Monday night after I had written you, we headed into town and came up on an accident where someone on a bicycle got his by a vehicle. There was a ton of people there. I was going to get out and go help out, but I figured there was enough people there. I really should have gone over and seen what I could do. People were just panicking. It was terrible. I hope the person is ok. So on Tuesday we did exchanges again. This time I was with Elder Shields. We biked 7 miles that day and reached all of our goals! It was such a great day! Elder Shields is a fantastic Elder who truly is diligent! On Wednesday we received some amazing news! On that day, and the Thursday, we could take the people we work with and take them to the VIP session of the open temple! So on Wednesday we taught and set up as many people as were available to come with us! We were able to find 4 families to go with us Thursday. So on Thursday afternoon we were able to take one person with us. We were lucky enough to have a person from the purchasing department with us on our tour and he told us all about how they got the wood from South Africa, and the marble flooring from Spain. Also talked about how the symbol of this temple is the Apple blossoms and that the wood starts dark and gets lighter the higher up in the temple you get. It is such a beautiful temple! One of the prettiest temples I have ever been in! It was amazing! Sooooo pretty! On Saturday we taught Jaxson and we are hoping hoping to have him get baptized here soon! We also took them to the temple later that night. I am so blessed for temples. I know that temples are where families are made for all eternity. It was an amazing week and I am so blessed to have the Lord on my side. I will do the will of the Lord. Well hope you all have a good week! Love ya all!
